Portrait

Bernadette Charron-Bost

I am a CNRS senior researcher, and a former member of the laboratory of Computer Science at the École polytechnique. I recently moved to the Computer Science department of École Normale Supérieure ( DIENS ).

My research focuses on distributed computing (computability and complexity), formal modelling and verification of distributed algorithms, multi-agent networked systems, natural algorithms and influence systems.

Recent and upcoming events

Antique seminar

There is a weekly seminar in the Antique team. Future and recent talks can be found on this page: https://team.inria.fr/antique/news/ .

Marseille Coverings Days

The first Marseilles Coverings Days will take place in Marseille on February 13 and 14, 2023. This first meeting will focus on the use of graph coverings and generalizations for the study of anonymous networks models.

The program and registration process are presented here https://dalgo-team.pages.lis-lab.fr/marseille-cd/

Research

I maintain a very incomplete and subjective collection of papers in my research areas that I have found very inspiring and which founded my understanding and my vision of these areas. The purpose is to give the reader a better idea of where my interests lie, and to provide a guide to reading material for those new to the subject.

Involvement

Antique seminar

I am in charge of organizing the seminar for the Antique team. Please feel free to contact me if you are willing to propose a talk.

Gender-equality

I am the gender-equality referent for DIENS . You can contact me for any question or concern related to parity.

Concours national étudiant

Together with David Naccache , I am in charge of “Concours National Étudiant” for the computer science department of the ENS.

Besides the CPGE track (for students following the Grande Ecole Preparation program), the ENS recruits the best students from French and foreign universities (with a Bachelor 2 (L2) or Bachelor 3 (L3) level).

The Computer Science Department provides merit-based scolarships.

More information on the admission to the CS department of ENS may be found here: https://diplome.di.ens.fr/admission-cne_fr.html . Would you have any question, you can also contact me by email.

Teaching

As a part-time professor at École polytechnique, I teach two courses:

  • INF571, that is an introduction to distributed algorithms.
  • INF636, that covers the fundamentals of distributed algorithmics and the consensus problem.

Every three year, I also give a course at MPRI that addresses the various consensus in distributed systems.
