SAS'01 Conference Site

The conference site for SAS'01 is the Sorbonne, which is located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris (France), the so-called "Latin Quarter" (next to Saint-Germain des Prés in the 6th arrondissement).

   Student bookstores, cafes, movie theaters, and jazz clubs fill this ancient quarter between the River Seine and the Luxembourg Gardens. Many famous institutes of learning are nearby, including the seat of the University of Paris, La Sorbonne.

   The Sorbonne is located on 47, Rue des Écoles. The conference room is “ Salle Louis Liard ”. The Sorbonne is easily reached by métro (station Cluny/La Sorbonne), by RER (stations Saint Michel or Luxembourg) or by bus (lines 21, 24, 27, 38, 63, 67, 70, 85, 87 & 96).

There are several usable entrances to the building, the most practical ones being

  • 17, rue de la Sorbonne;
  • 47, rue des Écoles.
  •    Maps and all other information concerning local arrangements are available on-line.
