HP 48G (US, 1993)

A lower cost version of the HP 48GX. It has the same features except for the reduced RAM and absence of extension ports.

• CPU: 4-bit Saturn at 4 MHz (chip version: 1LT8)
• RAM: 32 KB (not extensible)
• ROM: 512 KB
• Video: 131x64 pixels LCD at 64 Hz, 2 colors
• Sound: 1-bit buzzer
• Keyboard: 49 keys
• I/O: 4-wire serial I/O (RS-232 adaptor available) and infra-red I/O
• Extension: no cart slot
• Power: 3 AAA cells

Usage

The HP 48G driver is used exactly as the HP 48GX one except that, as the HP 48G has no extension port, the -port1 and -port2 options are not supported. Also note that the contents of the RAM for the HP 48G and HP 48GX drivers are stored in distinct nvram files, and that the HP 48G has only 32 KB of RAM instead of 128 KB.
